Which AI Tool Should You Use for Ads? A Map for When There Are Too Many Options.

Every week there's a new "game-changing" AI tool for images or video. Groups are full of recommendations, everyone swears their tool is the one. The result? You open ten tabs, try two things, nothing sticks, and you're back where you started — still asking which AI tool you should actually use for ads. The problem isn't a lack of tools. It's that no one told you what each one is actually good for.

Problém nie je nedostatok nástrojov. Problém je, že nikto ti nepovedal, na čo je ktorý z nich skutočne

Here's the map, based on what I actually use and why — from AI image generators to AI video tools for campaigns.

  1. Claude — the brain before you start generating

This isn't a tool for creating images. It's a tool for thinking before the image. Concepts, moodboard ideas, prompt structure, campaign breakdowns, ad copy and captions.

Use it for:
  • working through a concept or brief before generating
  • prompt engineering — refining a prompt into its final form
  • ad copy, descriptions, captions

If you're just starting out and don't have budget for paid AI tools for ads, this is where you begin — not Midjourney.

  1. Midjourney — when you need a visual identity, not just an AI image

If you're looking for an AI image generator for ads that can produce a visual that reads as an actual campaign, Midjourney is the foundation. Its strength isn't just quality — it's personalization and moodboards, which learn your visual language and hold it consistently across a full set.

Use it for:

  • product and campaign visuals for ads on Instagram, Facebook, or websites
  • consistent series (same model, same setting, different pose)
  • an aesthetic that has to read as "brand," not generic AI image

Don't use it for quick, throwaway ideas where the details don't matter — it's too slow and precise for that.

ChatGPT / Nano banana — a fast AI image generator for quick edits

This is the layer between concept and a final Midjourney visual. ChatGPT can generate a quick photo when you need to test an idea and don't have time for precise prompting. Nano banana, meanwhile, excels at editing an existing visual — changing a detail, a color, a small part of the scene — without regenerating the whole image from scratch.

Use them for:

  • quickly testing a concept before moving to Midjourney
  • small fixes on a finished visual (product color, a background detail)
  • situations where you don't need full control over style, just a fast result for an ad

This isn't a replacement for Midjourney on a final campaign visual — it's a tool for speed and flexibility, not precise visual identity.

Higgsfield — when you need AI video with control over motion

Higgsfield fits when you want a video effect with precise control over camera and movement, not random animation. It's built for stylized, "directed" motion — ideal if you're working on an AI video ad that needs to look professional, not like an experiment.

Use it for:

  • campaigns that need a specific camera move (zoom, pan, reveal)
  • stylized product video effects

Use Seedance / Kling inside Higgsfield

This is the layer that brings what you built in Midjourney to life and turns a static visual into an AI video ad. I've tested several options, and Seedance 2.5 currently gives me the best balance of quality and consistency compared to Kling 3.0. Runway is a solid alternative when you need a different type of motion or effect.

You don't need every tool at once, and you don't need to master all of them. You need to know which step of the campaign each tool solves — the rest is craft that comes with practice.

Why so many businesses still pick the wrong AI tool for ads?

The most common mistake isn't picking the wrong tool — it's missing a system. Businesses download one AI image generator, produce ten random visuals, and wonder why none of it looks like a brand. An AI visual for ads works when there's a clear process behind it: concept → prompt → generation → edit → video. Without that order, even the best tool is just a toy.

  1. reklamné texty, popisy, captions

Ak si na začiatku a nemáš rozpočet na platené AI nástroje na reklamu, toto je miesto, kde začať — nie Midjourney.
